Conference Objectives:
European Policy on inland transport. The conclusion reached after debating this subject must determine the way to achieve profitability on European Corridors IV and VII (corridor IV - road transport, Corridor VII - river transport).
The conference will debate the issues associated with the river transport corridor Rhine-Main-Danube - Europe’s Green Motorway.
Integration of inland navigation into the freight transport policy promoted by the competent ministries, logistic integration of inland river ports.
Interference of the European road transport (corridor IV) with the river transport. Ensuring the continuity of the road freight traffic in the Danube river ports of Bechet, Calafat, Giurgiu, Zimnicea. Services provided by the company SPET S.A. Bucharest, through representative offices and working points of Craiova, Bechet and Calafat.
The Danube Summit must reach a conclusion regarding the harmonization of the legal regimes of the Rhine and Danube established by the Central Commission for Rhine Navigation in Strasbourg and the Danube Commission in Budapest.
The restoration of the navigation in Novi Sad - a clearance project being carried out by the Danube Commission The Danube Commission worked out a clearance project of the navigation fairway at an estimated cost of EUR 26 million. The European Union’s Council agreed to cover up to 85 % of the expenses.
The Summit will end with a round table to evaluate post conference documentary report detailing conference conclusions and initiatives for distribution to delegates and government agencies
